We are incredibly excited to announce that 8 years after the devastating fire that left our much-loved farm shop burnt to the ground, we are about to embark on our ‘big build.’

|
From the 3rd December 2018 the groundworks for our brand new, state-of-the-art, farm shop and restaurant will begin and we aim to open the doors next summer to coincide with the 90th anniversary of our family run business that stretches over five generations.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our incredible staff and all our loyal customers, for not only bearing with us, but for their tremendous ongoing support since 2010. We couldn’t have got this far without you! The future looks bright and we can’t wait to transform from Britain’s oldest farm shop to Britain’s newest. |
We will keep you regularly updated on how the next stage of our exciting long-awaited journey goes and we look forward to welcoming you all through the doors at our grand opening.
Check out our development timeline below to see our progress so far!
In the meantime, please don’t worry, you can still get your hands on our amazing award winning pies and delicious much loved sausages, as our trusty old shop and restaurant will remain open until our new building is ready. |
On behalf of the Hinchliffe family, thank you all so much, your support and loyalty has been phenomenal.

On the 3rd December 2018, the construction process of the long awaited Hinchliffe's Farm Shop and Café commenced.
The new state-of-the-art Hinchliffe’s Farm Shop and Restaurant is expected to open this summer to coincide with our 90th anniversary.
Please don’t worry, the old shop and restaurant will remain open until our new building is ready.
It's been a positive few weeks on the site, works are progressing well with general site clearance and the reduce level dig is well underway.
Design stage of the structural steel is completed and production of the steel has started.
If you stop by the Farm Shop and Restaurant in the next few weeks you will be able to see the continued excavation for the foundations.
The reduce level dig to the building foot print has been completed and we are underway with the next steps of the groundwork.
In the next few weeks we will be installing the underground pipes and starting to pour the concrete.
After that starts the installation of the steel frame structure and we are excited to see our Farm Shop rise again!
The installation of the steel frame has started and is progressing quickly. Be sure to have a look on your next visit.
Over the next few weeks we are aiming to commence with installing the external walls up to dpc and continue with the installation of the underground systems.
Underground systems are complete and the metal deck and flat roof insulation have been installed.
The external walls are currently 35% complete and over the next couple of weeks you’ll be able to see the continuation of the wall and roof and the start of the floor slab casting.
Beam and block floor completed on the 1st floor. Progress on the external feature wall using natural stone has started.
Over the next couple of weeks, you will see the installation of the slate roofing and the roof lights being installed.
The external feature wall has been completed and all of the trisomet roofing has been installed.
Over the next couple of weeks, the concrete floor and dry stone walling will commence on site.
The final internal groundwork preparations are underway and everything is ready for the big concrete pour. The timber and drystone walling external cladding has commenced on site.
Over the next couple of weeks, the concrete ground floor will be poured and work will commence of the roofing elements.
The first ground floor concrete pour has been completed and now the internal scaffolding is being set up to allow work on the interior to start.
Over the next couple of weeks, the remaining windows will be installed and the installation of the slate roofing will commence.
The internal partitions and the plastering process is coming along and the inside of the new build is starting to take shape.
Over the next couple of weeks, the remaining concrete slab will be installed with elements of the concrete coming from France! Also preparations are underway for the installation of the slate roofing.
A high specification redevelopment of an existing Farm Shop, Restaurant & Butchery. Following a fire which devastated the original premises, and to replace current temporary buildings - the scheme will both restore and greatly improve on these previous facilities.
