1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornflour, and sesame oil. Add the thinly sliced steak and toss to coat. Let it marinate for at least 10-15 minutes (longer if you have time). 2. While the steak marinates, prep the vegetables by slicing the onion, peppers, carrot, and broccoli. Set them aside. 3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over high heat. Once the pan is very hot, add the marinated steak in a single layer. Stir fry for 2-3 minutes until browned but still a little pink inside. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside. 4. In the same pan, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil.

5. Add the onion, peppers, carrot, and tender stem broccoli. Stir fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender. 6. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger and stir fry for another 30 seconds until fragrant. 7. Return the steak to the pan along with any juices. Add 2 tablespoons of water to help steam and deglaze the pan. If using, add the rice vinegar for a tangy twist. Toss everything together and cook for another 1-2 minutes to combine the flavours and heat through. 8. Garnish the stir fry with sesame seeds and fresh coriander or sliced spring onions. Serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles for a satisfying meal. |
