We are temporarily closing The Rusty Bull, however, Hinchliffe’s Farm shop will be open for business as usual (being run in a separate part of the building and with a different team) the Farm shop has not been put at risk.
Following government guidelines, and with only 1 staff member having been diagnosed, we are not obliged to close the restaurant.
However, the safety of our staff and you, our cherished customers, is far more important to us than the loss of trade for a short period. Therefore, after consultation with Government Track and Trace, we have made the decision to close The Rusty Bull for a few days, or until we feel it’s safe to re-open.
As we have followed the UK government’s Covid-19 guidelines with exceptional attention to detail we have been informed that the risk to customer and staff is very low. Despite this we believe that allowing staff the time to get tested, and be sure they are Covid-19 free, means that we can re-open with the utmost confidence, safety, and peace of mind for our staff and customers.
We understand your concern and want to inform you that the track and trace task force only contact guests if we have had more than one Covid 19 case. As we only have one at present there is no need for guests who dined with us on the weekend to take any action as we have adhered to all the government protocols. Please follow government guidelines and get tested if you show any symptoms.

It’s heart breaking to be closing again. We hope that, during this short closure, we can continue to count on the incredible support you have given us over the last 6 months.
This is just a bump in the road, and we will be back very soon. Better than ever before!
WATCH THIS SPACE FOR OUR RE-OPENING DATE
The shop is open for business as usual and we are working round the clock to keep up with demand and keep our shelves full. Our Butchers, Bakers and Pie Makers are continuously replenishing the stocks!
We have elevated our already high standards of hygiene, incorporating additional cleaning, disinfecting procedures and frequency.
We just wanted to take this time to say a huge thank you to you our customers for all of your support, to our dedicated team who are working tirelessly to make sure we are stocked up and supporting our community and to our suppliers for your ongoing efforts to keep our shelves stocked. We will continue to be there to serve our community.
A high specification redevelopment of an existing Farm Shop, Restaurant & Butchery. Following a fire which devastated the original premises, and to
replace current temporary buildings - the scheme will both restore and greatly improve on these previous facilities.
